Nablus, Palestinian Territories, ISRAEL / Middle East
Project Hope would like to purchase English as a Second Language Curriculum materials so that it can create an organized and effective curriculum for the many English classes that it is already teaching. These materials will aid its staff and volunteer teachers in preparation of their classes. The materials will be of use to Project Hope long-term.
Project Hope already provides many English classes for children, youth and adults around the Nablus area, including the refugee camps and villages in the district. These classes are run by international volunteer teachers, many of whom do not have previous experience teaching English as a foreign language. For this reason, Project Hope needs to invest in materials that will aid the teachers in the creation of curricula that are suitable for each class and each level. Education in a country living under occupation can be life sustaining and provide the student with opportunities otherwise unavailable to him or her. English, as a global language, is especially important for acquiring higher education and a good job in Palestine.
