Project Details
VEC provides education at its newly opened boarding school to impoverished children in the Helambu Province of Nepal. The children range in age from 3-17; many of them have been abandoned and several have severe disabilities. The school provides a modern education while at the same time encouraging students to embrace their Himalayan heritage.
The requested $800 will cover the total cost of attendance, including school costs, room and board for one child for one year. The children could never afford this on their own. A small fraction of that total goes to running the school, including paying for the facilities and paying a modest salary to the teachers.
