Project Details
Building Hope in Burma’s Livestock for a Living program supplies a female pig to struggling families who have no other way to make a living. Villagers are able to use offspring of the pig for food and to sell them for income.
This steady food and sustainable stream of income is significant for villagers who lost virtually everything in cyclone Nargis. Rather than living day-do-day, never knowing if they will have enough food, this project will allow beneficiaries to live in the confidence that their most basic needs will be met. This is an on-going project; the organization will purchase as many pigs as funding will allow for $95 a pig.
