Starfish Africa currently sponsors 38 kids like Evaline at 11 of the best high schools in Kenya. A donation of $1,000 USD will cover all the necessary fees for Ealine’s education for one year. Importantly, S.A. board members cover all the administrative fees related to S.A., so 100% of a sponsorship donation would go directly to Evaline’s educational needs. Evaline will be a junior this coming academic year (beginning in late September) at Loreto High School in Limuru, Kenya.
In Kenya, students have to pay for high school, and some of them – even though very talented – cannot afford it. S.A. finds and sponsors students who are qualified to and who desire to attend school but cannot due to the associated costs.. S.A.’s sponsorships are overseen and monitored by its Kenyan field officer, who ensures satisfactory performance. Additionally, students are given leadership and vocational training throughout their four years in S.A.’s program. The $1,000 USD outlined in this request will allow Evaline to continue in the S.A. program instead of dropping out of high school. This sponsorship will do more than simply pay school fees – it will equip and empower her to make a difference in Kenya in the future.
