Project Details
To help with students’ English and Russian studies, Georgia-based aid organization Keda CBO wishes to purchase audio equipment to supplement text books in the classroom of the local high school. This will give students the opportunity to listen to clear English and Russian which will help their pronunciation and fluency in the languages. The additional resource will also help students prepare for exams, with the aim of improving results so that they can get into a university. The $110 called for by this project will provide the tapes that go along with the text books the students currently use, along with audio recorders. Two weeks after receiving the funds, the group will be able to purchase recorders and tapes for use in the classroom which will increase students’ exposure to native accents. Fluency in English and Russian can greatly improve the students’ prospects but to reach this standard it is important to be able to hear how the language should be spoken. The audio equipment will overcome the problems of distance experienced by rural villages so that the children have the best opportunities to improve their language skills.Keda CBO
