Georgia-based aid organization Keda CBO would like to invite professionals from the city into the village where it works with a local high school to talk to high school students about their professions and the job opportunities available to those who pursue those studies at the university, thereby encouraging students to pursue higher education and to start exploring different career paths.Keda plans to sponsor a series of career counseling sessions, hosted by professionals representing different fields, with the students at the high school it supports. Currently many students do not pursue higher education because they are unmotivated and doubt that the Georgian market will support jobs when they have finished school. Keda hopes that by promoting better understanding of the opportunities available it can help promote greater university attendance, as students will see that interesting, good-paying jobs can be attained by college graduates.
