Project Details
Just $860 can provide clean drinking water for years to come for children attending the Endonyio Sidai Primary School in rural Kenya. Aid organization Friends of Kenya Schools and Wildlife (FKSW), a trusted partner of WideAwake.org, will purchase a device that will harvest rain water from the roof of the school building and storage bins, allowing the school authorities to collect potable water during the rainy season for use throughout the year. Presently, the children at the school have to walk a long way to a well to get water - this drinking water project will make life easier for these Kenyan youngsters, allowing them to focus on their studies instead of worrying about water.
FKSW will purchase the water harvesting device and storage bins within two weeks of this project becoming fully funded. The device will be installed immediately thereafter, providng relief to these Kenyan school children.
