A local aid organization in Hyderabad, India, WOMEN Hyderabad, will provide conversational English instruction to 20 high school females from the slums in the area, thereby enhancing their prospects to secure a good job.The project will provide training in English for 20 high school females who have demonstrated a strong interest in learning the language and a capacity to learn new schools quickly. Being able to speak English will make the young women much more competitive on the job market. The project will provide a tutor for the class, which will meet every day after school for a period of six months. This will be enough time to allow the women to secure jobs in the computer technology, fashion, secretarial and other fields that in India often require at least a minimal amount of English. The project cost will cover workbooks and other materials for the 20 students. WOMEN will begin the program within two months of the project being fully funded.
