  Big things are happening in the tiny West African nation of The Gambia, and community development organization Better Africa Youth Initiative (BAYI) is playing a central role in equipping the country's youth to tackle significant challenges and to make the changes that will lead to sustainable development.  BAYI's work in training and building up future leaders will be greatly enhanced with the purchase of a laptop computer.  Just $450 will allow BAYI to purchase a dependable laptop that will be used by the organization's leadership in carrying out its many duties.  From organizing a debat competition for high schoolers to hosting an HIV awareness seminar, BAYI's diverse activities that support impoverished communities in The Gambia will receive a boost from the assistance of a reliable laptop.  BAYI currently uses a desktop computer that cuts out often and regularly erases data.  A new laptop will allow BAYI to work on the go and to do so much more efficiently, thereby helping more people in need and doing so more effectively.  BAYI will purchase the laptop computer within one week of the project being fully funded.  It will be purchased in the capital of The Gambia, Banjul, and will be put to use right away by BAYI's leadership personnel.  It will be used primarily by BAYI's director, Akeem, who has been a trusted partner of WideAwake.org since the beginning of 2009.
