Project Details

This project is in response to the needs of poor but brilliant student in The Gambia Senior Secondary School. Funding of this project will pay the school fees for one student for an entire academic year. It is widely known that in The Gambia Senior Secondary School many academically ambitious students drop-out of school because their families cannot afford of pay the school fees. Often, abject poverty or un-forseen circumstances, like a father losing his job or the death of one or both parents, prevent these students from reaching their full potential.Students forced to drop-out of school are exposed to serious sexual exploitation, child labor, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, illegal migration and other unthinkable hardships in order to survive. This project prevents students from dropping out of school due to their families inability to pay and saves these unfortunate students from the hardships they would endure as a result.
