Yamini desires to purchase a backpack for each of its 52 students. In addition to aiding children in the transportation of books and materials between school and home, the backpacks will serve as a source of pride as they will be monogrammed with the Yamini School logo.Most children Yamini serves do not have backpacks and cannot afford them, instead carrying their items in an old sack. Having identical backpacks will give the students a sense of belonging – something that is sorely missing in a culture that all too often shuns those with disabilities.
